Mouloud Benzadi once said: “Kill extremists and more extremists will appear. Kill Extremist Ideology and extremism will disappear.”
It is quite clear now that the secularism in India is at stake. Moreover, it has become apparent that the international community has failed to pressurize the Indian government to protect the human rights of the minorities. More than 12 million Muslims are on the hit list of the government. The important aspect of this issue is that BJP government itself to prove that Hinduism is the only ideology for India .The dark side is that, on the government level, BJP tries to prove that there is no space for other religious believers in the country. The important question is what is the next step of the extremist BJP. Muslims all over India is an uncertainposition. The ground reality is that the BJP hatred policy towards Muslims justifies the two nation theory. It is hoped that people all over the India will condemn the government’spolicy towards the minorities. In Shaheen Bagh in New Delhi, protesters have been staging protests against the governmentfor many weeks. According to BBC, it is the routine of the Muslim women to come to Shaheen Bagh daily and chant slogans against Modi’s policies aggressively. They continue their demand to roll back the abusive controversial citizenship law. The beauty of the ongoing protest campaign is that there are not onlyMuslims are on the road, but also Hindu men and women who are also condemning the BJP’s fascist polices. There is no doubt that it is a beautiful sight to see the different members of the Indian society united for the same demands. The latest development is that one of extremist youngHindu opened fire on the protesters, resulting inone person being injured. Some Indian observers claim that theIndian democracy is on a crossroads. If, in this historical event, the Indian civil society does not play his vital role, the disaster will never be solved .On the other hand, the lower cast of Hindus have joined hands with the protesters, where they openly claim that the Prime Minister Modiis following his extremist agenda against the low cast Hindus.
There is no doubt that the BJP is reshaping India’sideology. Modi and his companions want to convert India into an extremist Hindu state. Till date, we can say easily that the westhas never paid attention tothe ongoing situation in India. America and the other major players wantto promote business with New Delhi which is why they ignore the BJP government’s human rights violations. Some observers says that now the ball is in the Indian civil society’scourt. The impartial intellectuals of India know very much that the survival of their countyis linked to secularism. Some observers says that India must redefine their identity.
In this background, one important question is what does Pakistan do now? The fact is that BJP is using the Pakistan card successfully. The hard core Hindu leadership has cleverly planned a strategy where it continuously blames Pakistan for all of India’s ill fates. The delicate aspect of Pakistan-India bitter relations is that both countries are nuclear powers. If the escalation becomes high between the two rival countries, the peace of South Asia will be at stake. It is an open secret that Pakistan never wants to escalate tensions with India. After 9/11,Pakistan’s problems have dramatically increased. In the recent past, thousands of Pakistanis have lost their lives, and the country has faced billons of dollars in losses. This is why common Pakistanis never want war because they very much understand the brutalities of war.
