Mushtaq urges universities to focus on research and innovation based education

PESHAWAR, March 10: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Higher Education, Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, has called upon the high-ups of universities to fully focus on research and innovation based education instead of traditional one and prepares human resource in line with need of the market. He added that party chief Imran Khan is quite serious in promotion of higher education and he, for the purpose already formed Think Tank. He disclosed that Imran Khan would visit KUST in the near future.
This, he stated while attending a presentation at Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) the other day. Vice Chancellor KUST Professor Fida Khattak during the briefing, told about the historical background, infrastructure, future plan of action and successes of KUST in detail. He requested the chief guest to intervene in resolution of the electricity feeder issue to resolve the energy problem of the University on permanent basis.
Special Assistant to CM maintained, indeed KUST was one of the beautiful universities of the Province but it should be a role model for other universities in performance also. He said that real job of universities was research, creativity and innovation therefore they should concentrate on introducing new ideas and trends in higher education for bright future of the country.-PR
