ISLAMABAD, March 10: It has been reported that there was a heated exchange between Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Khwaja Asif, Pir Sabir Shah and Mian Javed Latif during party’s parliamentary meeting.
According to sources, Javed Latif criticized party policies and demanded that the consultation circle be widened. The leader warned members that the party had tough times ahead and they should prepare accordingly as well as mobilize party frontlines for protest.
Senator Pir Sabir Shah said that the party has suffered by swaying from leadership’s narrative and if the situation isn’t rectified, PML-N will lose popular support as well. Only Nawaz Sharif’s word is final in the eyes of the party, he added.
Khwaja Asif urged members to stick to party lines and follow the narrative set by the party leadership. He termed the criticism of party policy as ‘Beauty of Democracy’ on a question by the media.
Speaking at the meeting, Mohsin Shah Nawaz Ranjha asked for the return of leader Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to the country, which all members concurred with.
Talking to the media, Pir Sabir Shah said that he voiced his opinion openly in the consultative meeting where everyone expressed their views on current party issues.
He further said that he expressed the aspirations of the people in front of the party, which is committed to upholding and protecting Nawaz Sharif’s narrative.-Agencies
