India plans to strike: Terror alert issued for Karachi

KARACHI, March 11: As possible reaction of Pathankot airbase ambush, India, with support of local terror outfits, planned terror strikes in Pakistan, Federal intelligence agencies have warned.
The National Counter Terrorism Authority on Friday warned Sindh government of possible terrorist attacks on state installations in Karachi.
According to a handout No: INCH (CMC) HD/1-4/2016 written to Rangers and police authorities, Sindh home department warned that terrorists could target military and other sensitive installations.
It stated that India, after Pathankot airbase attack which left its  7 soldiers dead, planning to carry out terror strikes in Pakistan, especially in Karachi to take revenge.
India has assigned the task to some terror outfits like banned TTP and rebel Baloch militant groups, handout said adding that some attackers have entered into Pakistan from Afghanistan’s Kandahar region.
Police and Rangers have been directed to immediately beef up security at sensitive areas.
Earlier, Security Agencies had also warned for threats of terrorists attacks on religious figures in Karachi and directed to remain alert. According to intelligence report, banned Tehreek-e-Taliban could target religious figures in Karachi and the militants have planned to target two religious figures through suicide attacks. Security agencies have directed both religious figures to beef up their security and to limit their activities.-Online
