He was a human in every imaginable sense of the word. Yet he was a lot mare than a human. Thomas Carlyle selected him as his Hero as a Prophet. And Michael Hart has made him number one person among those who have influenced the history of mankind. Neither Carlyle, nor Hart can be credited with any degree of liking or love for the faith founded by him (Peace Be Upon Him).Even if he had not been a Messenger of God, which he was, he would have gone down in history as the greatest revolutionary who ever lived.
He changed the rules of the game in a way that the dispossessed and the deprived became the rulers, the down-trodden and the have-nots became empowered, and a person’s goodness in behaviour and deeds replaced wealth, fame, lineage and position in society as the virtues on which men and women would be judged. The most noble of deeds and behaviour was defined as ‘caring for orphans’ ‘sheltering widows’ and ‘protecting the weak’.In nutshell the Prophet of Islam (Peace Be Upon Him) overturned all the norms and values upon which Mecca’s society, and all the identical societies ware based.
It is our faith that when Allah the Omnipotent designated man as his superiormost creation, he had Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in his Divine Mind. The best way to pay homage to our Prophet (PBUH) is to commit ourselves whole heartedly to his cause of overturning the rules of the game, empowering goodness, and making Bilal an equal of Abu Sufyan in every sense.
