ISLAMABAD, April 30: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Shibli Faraz has said that media is playing an important role in highlighting the positive image of the country. This he said while talking to Group Editor Daily Al Akhbar and National Herald Tribune, Riaz Ahmad Malik and Editor Coordination, Haseeb Abbasi who called on him to extend greetings on assuming the charge of the Information Minister.
The Minister added that he is fully aware of the problems, the print media is facing and that he will try his level best to resolve these problems.
Senator Faraz also stated that he will also ensure the fair distribution of Government ads to newspapers and that a transparent policy will be evolved in this regard.
On this occasion, Editor-in-Chief Mr. Ghulam Akbar’s prestigious book ‘ Ham Koun Hein’ was also presented to the Minister. It is note-worthy to mention that Mr. Ghulam Akbar is also the Senior Media Consultant of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
