It is being said that in the next financial budget there is a suggestion to impose a super Corona tax on the filthy rich as well as on those who are drawing handsome monthly salaries. The money so realised would be spent on the welfare of the poor as well as on those who are affected by coronavirus. It is also being said that the FBI wants to to achieve the target of realising 51 trillion rupees for the purpose Needless to say that various countries are toying with the idea of imposing wealth tax on the financially rich so as to tackle Corona virus
This year the international Labour Day on 1st May was overshadowed by coronavirus. In normal course of things this day is is marked with seminars and processions galore of the labour throughout the length and breadth of the country in which the problems of the labourers are highlighted. The labour class continues to groan under abject poverty, particularly, in the Third world countries. The capitalistic economic system has crushed the poor to the core. Take, Pakistan for example. Can any person in this country whose monthly income doesn’t exceed 18000 rupees run his kitchen with this paltry amount? Conventional wisdom says that unless a Labourer has a monthly. income equivalent to market price of one tola of gold he is simply not in a position to keep his body and soul together.
POSTSCRIPT: Every government in this country raises fuel price in the country in consonance with that increase but it doesn’t reduce its price commensurate with the drop in its international price which is unjust to say the least. This anomaly needs to be removed.
