Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday commended role models involved in implementing the country’s Peaceful China initiative at a meeting in Beijing.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, encouraged the representatives to make even greater contributions to building a high-level and peaceful China.
Under the initiative, more efforts will be made to safeguard and shape national security and to forestall and tackle risks to the country’s modernization process.
It also highlights the importance of strengthening the capacity of the national security system, ensuring national economic security, guaranteeing people’s safety and maintaining social stability and security.
The Chinese government has said the country will push forward the Peaceful China initiative at a higher level over the duration of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025). – CGTN
