ISLAMABAD, January 4: Career Development Center (CDC), COMSATS University, Islamabad, Wah Campus successfully organized “Open House and Job Fair – Fall 2021” to showcase final year projects (FYPs) and skills of the graduating students of the Departments of Computer Science and Management Sciences, on December 29, 2021. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, T.I., Director, CUI Wah Campus graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his opening remarks, he highlighted the effectiveness of open house and job fair. He appreciated the efforts of all organizers for holding and arranging the event in befitting manner.
Thirty-two companies participated,shortlisted, and offered more than 30 jobs and did more than 100 interviews. Judges from industry and academia evaluated these projects, appreciated, and guided them with their valuable inputs. Industrial and academic representatives, faculty and students visited and inspected the flagship projects. 82 projects from the three different disciplines Computer Science, Software Engineering and Management Sciences were displayed to highlight the various facets of academic and professional grooming at CUI, Wah Campus.
In closing ceremony, Chief guest, Mr. Nasir Jamal, Chief Operating Officer, COMSATS Internet Services, Islamabad shared his experience at COMSATS University Islamabad regarding Open house and job fair. He appreciated administration, faculty and students for organizing such a successful event. He on behalf of CIS offered 15 management trainee positions for graduating students and announced cash prizes for the winners of final year projects. Keeping in view the potential, he generously offered to set up Technology Park at CUI Wah being his involvement in CUI since 2001. Director Campus in his closing remarks shared his appreciation for all the great efforts of CDC, IT, CS, and MS, Works and all departments for their excellent teamwork. He appreciated the potential of students and mentioned that every possible effort should be made to exploit their novel ideas by magnifying them globally at the broader canvas.He appreciated faculty members in guiding all students for such a unique opportunity of showcasing their projects and talent to a global community of their good work. Director Campus thanked all industry for their participation, encouragement, guidance, evaluation, and selection to the graduating batch students. Describing his vision for CUI Wah, he said adopting Science-Technology-Society philosophy; Real-World Problem Solving will help and will produce Entrepreneurs. – PR
