PESHAWAR, January 10: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Shehzad Khan Bangash while presiding over a district review meeting and addressing all the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners has said that the purpose of KhuliKachehri is to facilitate the access of citizens to the government offices so that their problems and grievances are taken into consideration. The meeting was attended by all the Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of all the districts and other concerned officials. Director Performance Management and Reforms Unit Capt. (R) AbdurRehman presented a report on KhuliKachehri to the participants of the meeting. Captain (Rtd) AbdurRehman informed the meeting that 172 KhuliKachehris have been held at district level during the last two months amongst which 92 KhuliKachehris were held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioners. The participants were further informed that 28 KhuliKachehri were held online, 2 for women, 3 for minority community and 1 exclusively for farmers. On the occasion, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. ShehzadBangash said that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is trying to solve the problems of the people at their doorsteps. He strongly stressed that any kind of laxity or negligence in solving the problems of the people will not be tolerated. He directed all the concerned officers to focus on resolving the problems of the people in the light of law and on merit providing satisfactory answers.
Director Performance Management and Reforms Unit Capt. (R) AbdurRehman, referring to the regulatory inspections taking place across the province, informed the participants that a total of 68,995 units were inspected in November and 79,384 units in December.
During the inspection of businesses in last 2 months, fines of Rs. 30.2 million were imposed on the units who were found violating the law. Similarly, FIRs were also registered against 2,552 units / businesses in November and December. Giving further details to the meeting, Director PMRU said that during the last two months, 196 persons have been sent to jail for violating the law, while 5,498 units / businesses have been sealed and warnings have been issued to 27,177 units. The day-to-day operations under the Good Governance Strategy were also highlighted. Briefing the meeting, Director Performance Management and Reforms Unit Captain (Rtd) AbdurRehman said that 4,108 kanals of land has been retrieved during the operation against encroachments in the last two months. Chlorination of 591 water tanks and 662 water quality tests have been carried out. Action was taken against 701 crushing plants. 366 public places, playgrounds, 219 bus stands and terminals have also been improved throughout the province. 3,045 illegal speed breakers and 3,119 illegal billboards have been removed across the province. While 300 different sports events have also been organized by District Administration.
Presiding over another meeting, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Shehzad Khan Bangash said that it was an immense development that no polio case had been reported in the province for the last 18 months. -PR
