Online dialogue with compatriots abroad was organized at the site of the Yuksalish National Movement. The goal is to discuss the draft Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026. The discussion provides an opportunity to involve compatriots, including youth, experts, representatives of academia, business, labor migrants, in the reform process in Uzbekistan. First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Director of the National Center for Human Rights Akmal Saidov delivered an opening speech. He focused on the key aspects of the development strategy of New Uzbekistan. It was noted that within the framework of the Action Strategy in five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, about 300 laws were adopted, over 4 thousand decisions of the President, aimed at cardinal reform of all spheres of life of the state and society. In the direction of reforming the national economy, effective measures have been taken to liberalize foreign trade, tax and financial policies, support entrepreneurship and guarantee the inviolability of private property, organize deep processing of agricultural products and ensure the accelerated development of regions.
Along with this, systematic work was carried out to ensure human rights, enhance accountability and openness of state bodies, enhance the role of civil society institutions, the media, political activity of the population and public associations. To determine the priority areas of reforms to further improve the welfare of the people, transform economic sectors, unconditionally ensure human rights and interests, form an active civil society based on the principle “From an Action Strategy to a Development Strategy”, public discussion of the draft Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 continues. Seven priority areas have been identified, which are united by the general principle “Human interests are above all”.
