Kabar

An industrial zone will be created in Uzbekistan jointly with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov stated at the Forum on Trade and Economic Cooperation between China and Central Asian countries, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported. “As part of the preparations for the SCO summit, a special industrial zone “Uzbekistan-SCO” is being organized in Uzbekistan. We invite our friends and partners to take part in the implementation of projects in this area,” he said. Restoring stable supply chains, accelerating industrial projects and ensuring smooth cross-border trade requires unorthodox techniques and out-of-the-box approaches, he said.
“I consider it expedient to accelerate the adoption of joint measures to simplify and liberalize mutual trade procedures, develop e-commerce, create green corridors for agricultural and fruit and vegetable products, converge technical regulations, sanitary and phytosanitary standards, and introduce paperless trade,” Umurzakov emphasized.
In addition, he added, it is important to maintain and strengthen the interaction of countries in the field of investment cooperation, as well as to resolve the issue of mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccination certificates, simplifying quarantine measures for vaccinated tourists and restoring a stable flow of flights.
The deputy prime minister also called for the development of a joint program of measures to organize an effective system of cargo transportation, which provides for investments in expanding infrastructure and increasing the throughput of key checkpoints in the countries of the region.
The next SCO summit will be held in September 2022 in Uzbekistan in the city of Samarkand.
