Turkmen President Inspects Progress on Ashgabat City Project

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdi muhamedov on Wedesday arrived in the northern part of the capital Ashgabat to get acquainted with the issues related to the construction of a large residential complex Ashgabat City.
On his arrival the Turkmen Leader paid attention to the state of the soil on the construction site of the Ashgabat City as well as the natural peculiarities of the area, noting that the most important requirement of the time is to preserve the ecological well-being not only in the capital and its surroundings, but also in all regions of the country.
At the site, Shamuhammet Durdyliyev, the Head of Directorate of Ashgabat City Facilities Under Construction of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture, briefed the Head of State with the draft master plan of the residential complex. He presented the projects of smart house with automated control and regulation of life support systems, as well as various systems of smart city.
Durdylyev also informed the Head of State about the announcement of the international tender for the implementation of the Ashgabat City project.
Then the Head of State held a working meeting at the site with the participation of government officials.
The draft master plan of Ashgabat City, which will become a new city in the capital, envisages the construction of more than 200 high-rise buildings, namely 12-35-storey ones, on the territory of the complex.
In this context, the Head of State stressed that the necessary measures should be taken to conduct thorough engineering and exploration works in the selected location for the new city and to strengthen the unstable soil.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also focused on the need to use the latest smart technologies in the new complex’s construction works, as well as to provide each building and facility with digital equipment and introduce a high-tech digitalization system.
The foundation of Ashgabat City was laid in May last year in a solemn ceremony with the participation of Turkmen President.
