ISLAMABAD, January 21: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has released performance report according to which Rs 539 billion was received during the last 4 years.
According to the spokesperson, NAB is working through a multi-pronged strategy to eradicate corruption from the society. Significant results of NAB’s efforts are beginning to emerge. Establishment of NAB was carried out to eradicate wealth and recover looted wealth from corrupt elements. Justice Javed Iqbal formulated the strategy after assuming his responsibilities as Chairman NAB.
The spokesperson further said that Transparency International Pakistan, World Economic Forum have appreciated the efforts of NAB. In the Gallup poll 59% of the people expressed their confidence in NAB. NAB has received Rs 539 billion in the last four years. From the beginning till now 510,729 complaints have been received out of which 498,256 complaints have been disposed off. NAB approved investigation of 16,307 complaints out of which investigation of 15,475 complaints has been completed.
The spokesperson said that NAB has approved 10,365 inquiries out of which 9,299 inquiries have been completed. -PR
