ISLAMABAD, January 21 : Bad news for the people already burdened with record inflation, as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has received a request for raising the power tariff by Rs3.12 per unit. On the contrary, there is good news for the people of Karachi for whom lowering of electricity rate by Rs1.79 per unit has been suggested. The Authority will give its decision on February 2 after conducting the hearing on February 1. The rise in tariff is in connection with the monthly fuel adjustment. -DNA
