Country’s economy on positive trajectory with increase in exports

ISLAMABAD, February 2: Spokesperson for Ministry of Finance, Muzammil Aslam says economy of the country is on positive trajectory with increase in exports and remittances and decline in imports. Addressing a news conference in Islamabad Wednesday, the Finance Ministry spokesperson said exports have gone up by eighteen percent and imports have decreased by twenty-three percent.
The Spokesperson said economic growth has been recorded at 5.37 percent while significant increase has been witnessed in foreign remittances. “Our import bill which was recorded at US$7.6 billion last month (December 2021) had declined to $5.9 bn in January, 2022, showing a decline of 22%,” Spokesman for the Finance Minister, Muzammil Aslam said. -DNA
