RAHIM YAR KHAN, February 8: Staff training was organized by the Department of Physics at KhwajaFareed University of Engineering and Information Technology. The workshop provided training on bridging the gap between education and industry.Speakers explained how to remove barriers to research, innovation and business. The training workshop was graced by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Suleman Tahir, DG PASTIC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Sheikh and Deputy Director PASTIC Muhammad Hasnain.The Chairman Department of Textile Engineering, Mehran University, Jamshoro Prof. Dr. Zeshan Khatri attended online as a Trainer. He highlighted the importance of education and acquiring technical skills. He said that the country needs to introduce new technologies and collaborate with industries. He said problems related to Language, slowness, fear of technology transfer and cost estimates are the main reasons for failure. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Suleman Tahir said that there is a need to establish a model that would enhance the link between successful entrepreneurs and students. The pace of national development can be accelerated by introducing smart business models. The Vice Chancellor said that Rahim Yar Khan is in the middle of Pakistan and if any development or creative project is introduced here, it will benefit the whole country. He said that there is a need to form a team which would identify the problems of the future scenarios and come up with suggestions for their solution.
