My regrets for my inability to write regularly these days may please be accepted. I am undergoing treatment of eyes because of which my “activities” have been restricted. Insha Allah I’ll be soon back on these pages with renewed vigour and resolve. Today however I want to reproduce here a saying of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that I had read a long time back. It is about GOVERNANCE.
“Those whom Allah is kind to choose as rulers, so that they carry out their responsibilities to the public with honesty and dedication are sure to earn His Pleasure if they succeed in proving themselves equal to the task and worthy of Allah’s Trust. But those who forget Allah’s Commandments, and indulge in nepotism, cronyism and corruption, in preference to respect for merit and justice, will invite nothing but the fires of hell”.
I wish, those incharge of Pakistan’s destiny today read this with due attention. If they do so it will be a great homage to the Man who was born this month, and whom God had chosen to become His last and greatest Messenger.
