Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Chief Editor Al-Akhbar and National Herald Tribune, Ghulam Akbar. In a tweet, he said Ghulam Akbar was a media veteran and a man of strong convictions and principles. The prime minister also extended condolences to the bereaved family of Ghulam Akbar.

Today we received a very sad news about our respected colleague, Editor-in-Chief of the Daily News Herald Tribune published in Pakistan Ghulam Akbar.
Ednews and all coleagues are expressing deep sorrow on passing away of Ghulam Akbar.
Ghulam Akbar, the Editor-in-Chief of the Daily NHT in Pakistan was a well-known figure in his country and abroad. He was author of a number of books, both in English and Urdu. He was also the senior Media Consultant of Pakistan Tehreek-e-lnsaf.
We will always remember him as a great patriot, a professional journalist and a promoter of Pakistani-Azerbaijani media relations and the best friendship between two brotherly countries.
