ISLAMABAD, March 22: The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Dr. Riyadh Al-Maliki, on Tuesday delivered a speech at the forty-eighth session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation under the title “Building Partnerships for Unity, Justice and Development”
Al-Maliki began his speech by thanking the Republic of Pakistan for hosting the work of the forty-eighth session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, praising the efforts it made for the success of the session.
Al-Maliki discussed the impact of international conflicts on the stability of the world and on the increase in challenges that threaten the multilateral global system based on international law. He pointed to the critical importance of unifying international efforts to confront the current challenges and establish global justice and stability. In this regard, Al-Maliki stressed the need to take collective steps through Activate the multilateral system with all its available tools.
Minister Al-Maliki criticized the policy of “double standards” followed by some countries of the world, and the resulting application of the rules of international law to some countries and the granting of immunity to other countries against being held accountable for their violations of international laws and norms, and said: “The Palestinian people suffered from injustice and frustration because of what they caused. A policy of double standards, stressing that the countries of the Islamic world should take the side of the right represented in the just Palestinian cause.
In his speech, Minister Al-Maliki briefed the ministers on the latest situation on the ground in the State of Palestine, especially what the city of Al-Quds Al-Sharif is exposed to due to the apartheid policies pursued by Israel, the illegal occupation authority, and its illegal practices in violation of all international resolutions and laws in the city of Al-Quds Al-Sharif, including It includes the forced deportation of the Palestinian people, the original inhabitants of the city, the demolition of homes, the construction of settlements and the wall to isolate them from their Palestinian surroundings and prevent the access of Christian and Muslim worshipers to their places of worship, aiming to Judaize the holy city, changing its character, legal status, historical landmarks, Arab and Islamic identity and changing its demographic composition, in addition to attacking the people’s capabilities. The Palestinian people through the continuous piracy of the Israeli occupation authorities on the tax funds of the Palestinian people.
Al-Maliki stressed that what Israel, the occupying power, is doing aims to erase the Palestinian presence from Jerusalem, which will inevitably lead to a religious war, which will have dire consequences for regional and international peace and security.
Al-Maliki called on all member states to exercise all forms of pressure in order to hold Israel, the occupying power, accountable for the systematic crimes it commits in Palestine. Colonialism and the dismantling of the apartheid system.
He also called on all member states to work for the implementation of all previous decisions issued by previous Islamic summits and meetings, in addition to pressure and work to implement all decisions issued by various international forums, especially the Security Council, the General Assembly of the United Nations, the Human Rights Council and the International Court of Justice, because of its It is important for the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate demands that are guaranteed by international law and its peremptory norms.
In conclusion, Minister Al-Maliki expressed his sincere thanks to all countries that support the Palestinian people in their quest to achieve their legitimate demands and rights, foremost of which is their right to independence, self-determination and the return of refugees, stressing that the protection of Al-Quds Al-Sharif, with the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque at its heart, rests on the shoulders of the entire Islamic nation.-PR
