ISLAMABAD, March 25: Inspector General National Highways and Motorways Police InamGhani took notice of complaints of commuters regarding overcharging at motorway service areas. National Highways and Motorway Police has received several complaints that shopkeepers at service areas are selling food items at exorbitant prices. In addition, services provided at service areas like workshops, tire shops and restaurants etc. are charging more than the normal market rates.Inspector General InamGhani has directed all the Zonal and Sector commanders of the National Highways and Motorways Police to make good efforts with the help of concerned food authorities and the district administration to stop the trend of overcharging.. He further directed to ensure the provision of quality food items and other facilities at reasonable prices at all service areas. An effective check and balance system should be implemented with the help of concerned authorities to discourage such active elements at motorway service areas. – PR
