Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi met on Wednesday in Tunxi, east China’s Anhui Province.
The Pakistani foreign minister arrived in China earlier in the day for the third meeting of the foreign ministers of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries, which is scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.
Wang visited Pakistan last week and had talks with Qureshi, during which the two sides agreed to enhance pragmatic cooperation in various fields.
Pakistan chaired the first meeting of the foreign ministers of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries on September 8, 2021, one day after the Afghan Taliban announced the formation of an interim government in Kabul. The second meeting was held in Tehran, the capital of Iran, on October 27, 2021.
