The Uzbek Film Days and the fourth meeting of the Board of Directors of film studios of the CIS and Georgia were held in Tajikistan from March 30 to April 2.
The events were attended by the Director-General of Uzbekistan Cinematography Agency Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Chairman of the Creative Union of Cinematographers of Uzbekistan Matyoqub Matchanov, cinematographers Rashid Malikov, Lola Eltoyeva, Umid Iskandarov, Nigina Anorboyeva, Furkat Usmanov, as well as heads of film studios from the CIS countries and Georgia. The audience was shown the feature films “101 Flight”, “Bir Kunlik To’y” (Wedding in a Day), “Tutqunlik” (Captivity) and the documentary “Matonat Maktabi” (School of Courage). All of these films were shot by the order of Uzbekistan Cinematography Agency. Movie premieres were shown on Tajikistan TV channels.
The closing ceremony of Uzbek Film Days in Tajikistan was organized for the first time as part of the ceremony of presenting the first Tajik National Film Award “Toji Somon”. Members of Uzbekistan delegation also took part in the event and presented statuettes to the winners.
During the visit, a presentation dedicated to the film about Alisher Navoi and Abdurahman Jami was held. The concept of the film was approved taking into account the opinions and proposals of both parties.
“A lot of information has been collected for the film, which is being shot at the initiative of the President, talks have been held with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan researchers”, said Rustam Jabborov, screenwriter of the film. – Based on the information received from them, a script was written, and during the discussions, the project was approved.
The participants agreed on the synopsis of another film, “Ko’rinmas Yulduz” (Invisible Star), which is planned to be filmed jointly.
