On this occasion, IG InamGhani said that information technology has a profound role to play in modernizing the Motorway Police. He said through this system we will further improve our performance by connecting with NADRA for arrest of notorious criminals and driving license, vehicle registration, vehicle fitness, and taking advantage of modern technology. The scope of information technology is being expanded to make highways safer and for the convenience of the people. Public Service Vehicles Information Management Systems will be set up soon on all the highways under the management of Motorway Police, especially at Big toll plazas of Peshawar and Lahore Motorways. So far, 6,000 vehicles and 3,500 drivers have been registered through this state-of-the-art system. This has led to a marked reduction in crime prevention. – PR
