Jakarta (ANTARA) – The government has allocated Rp34.3 trillion in budget fund for Eid al-Fitr allowances for state civil apparatuses and military and police personnel across Indonesia this year, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated.
“The policy to provide religious holiday allowances is stipulated in the 2022 state budget (law),” the minister noted in a press conference in Jakarta on Saturday.
Indrawati remarked that the budget allocations for religious holiday allowances had been accommodated in the 2022 state budget and will be disbursed through ministries/non-ministerial government institutions, general allocation fund (DAU), and the state general treasurer. Budget allocations for Eid-al-Fitr allowances disbursed through ministries and non-ministerial government institutions amounted to Rp10.3 trillion for state civil apparatuses, military and police personnel within the central government.
Eid-al-Fitr allowances disbursed through the general allocation fund amount to Rp15 trillion for regional civil servants (PNSD) and government employees recruited under work contracts (PPPK). The allowances may be added by those taken from the 2022 regional budget according to each region’s fiscal capability. Meanwhile, the Eid-al-Fitr allowances for pensioners amount to Rp9 trillion.
The minister remarked that the granting of allowances reflected the appreciation for state apparatuses and pensioners for their contribution and dedication in handling the COVID-19 pandemic through public services and economic recovery efforts.
“Hopefully, this policy would encourage the acceleration of national economic recovery through the improvement of the people’s purchasing power,” she stated.
