A presentation of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan was held at the Headquarters of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing.
The event, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing together with the Development Strategy Center of Uzbekistan, SCO Secretariat and Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, was attended by the leadership and permanent representatives of the SCO member states, senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, as well as representatives of diplomatic corps, socio-political, expert-analytical, business circles and Chinese media.
SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming praised Uzbekistan’s important contribution to ensuring sustainable development, peace and stability in the SCO region. In recent years, large-scale reforms have been carried out in the country under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Chinese experts focused on the progress achieved in Uzbekistan over the 5 years in the development of almost all spheres of society, including education, healthcare, employment, social security, poverty reduction, youth and women’s development.
Participants gave a positive assessment of Uzbekistan’s constructive and open foreign policy, Tashkent’s efforts to further develop broad international cooperation, including within the framework of the UN, SCO and other organizations. It was emphasized that the New Uzbekistan is an initiative and active participant in modern international processes.
Experts believe that the priorities outlined in the Strategy of the New Uzbekistan are fully in tune with the directions of cooperation within the SCO in the context of the implementation of key goals and objectives defined in the SCO Charter in the political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communication and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
