Turkmenistan will hold equestrian tournaments of international level and participate in such events abroad. This direction of activity, as one of the ways to popularize the Akhal-Teke horse breed in the world, national traditions of horse breeding and equestrianism, were designated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov as one of the main tasks of the International Association of Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding, the XII meeting of which was held in Ashgabat.
The head of state also instructed the Turkmen Horses State Association, together with the International Association, to expand cooperation with horse breeding organizations of the world to establish a systemic account of purebred Akhal-Teke horses on the planet and maintain an international stud book. In the same context, there were given tasks to strengthen scientific support for breeding work, develop new intrabreed lines in order to increase the number of Akhal-Teke horses.
As Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, it is necessary to hold thematic scientific forums, cultural events, fairs and auctions in Turkmenistan and other countries, take part in similar “equestrian” events organized around the world.In addition to holding equestrian competitions in the country and the participation of Turkmen equestrians in international tournaments abroad, the president also assigned a large role to the group of the national equestrian games “Galkynysh”, which gained fame in the world.
