Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev had on Friday a telephone conversation with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov.The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that during the talk, the foreign ministers discussed current issues on the agenda of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations, exchanged views on international and regional issues.
They also synchronized watches on the upcoming foreign policy contacts at high and the highest level, including the organization of a state visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan, as well as his participation in the plenary session of the Eurasian Economic Forum and the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on May 26-27.
In addition, the interlocutors discussed the incident that took place of May 5 on the territory of Kyrgyzstan in Tobobo-Korgon region of Jalal-Abad Oblast of Kyrgyzstan with the use of weapons by soldiers of the Border Troops of Uzbekistan, which resulted in the death of three citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Kulubaev and Norov stressed the need to make joint efforts to avoid negative consequences in the border area and to continue working to strengthen and expand Kyrgyz-Uzbek cooperation on the basis of friendship and good neighborliness. – Kabar
