Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, during the meeting of the State Security Council on Thursday instructed the heads of military and law enforcement agencies to further strengthen ongoing work to eradicate corruption and to develop appropriate proposals to improve the national legislation, the country’s official media reports. The Turkmen President addressed the instructions following the report of the Prosecutor General Batyr Atdayev on the discovery of corruption and bribery schemes in the trade structures of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan.
Following the Prosecutor General’s briefing, President Berdimuhamedov said, “There will never be a place for such criminals in our society. No one has the right to steal the property of the people, the state, to earn money by unfair labor.”
He emphasized that the Government will continue to wage an implacable fight against those who commit criminal acts infringing upon the property of the people and the state, and will take the necessary measures to root out corruption and bribery.
“We will never turn a blind eye to criminals who try to get rich by unfair means, infringing on the property of the people and the state,” President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed during the meeting. The State Security Council meeting discussed the results of the works of military and law enforcement agencies in the past four months of this year and identified priority areas of their activities for the near future. – Business Turkmenistan
