ANKARA,June 1: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has stressed the need to tap the huge potential and opportunities to promote trade relation between Pakistan and Turkey.
Addressing the Turkey-Pakistan Business Council in Ankara on Wednesday, he said that both the countries have also immense opportunities of cooperation in Textile industry and a joint strategy in this regard will further boost the industry.
The Prime Minister invited Turkish business community to invest in Pakistan and the government will provide all possible facilities in this regard.
He said both the countries have supported each other in critical times especially during earthquake, flood and other natural disasters.
He said through a joint adventure, the two countries can rapidly move to the path of development and prosperity.
Shehbaz Sharif said the government is taking effective steps to meet the current economic challenges being face by Pakistan.
The Prime Minister also invited Turkish investors to invest in Pakistan in the fields of hydro, solar and wind power projects.
He lauded the Turkish investment in solar parks projects in Pakistan as well.
Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan will be capable to produce 40,000 megawatt hydroelectricity after construction of dams in the country.
He said Pakistan wants to take the benefits from Turkish capabilities in diverse sectors as it has immense experience in construction of dams, production of cheaper electricity and manufacturing vehicles.
The Prime Minister said that Turkish investments in the country will also lead to profit to their business community besides development of Pakistan.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Tuesday while assuring his government’s all-out support, urged the business community of Pakistan and Turkey to take the bilateral trade to the $5 billion mark within next three years. “The $1.1 billion trade is nothing… Let us resolve to take the two-way trade to $5 billion… Let us do it speedily. The time and tide wait for none,” the prime minister said addressing a dinner reception hosted by the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Riffat Hisarciklioglu in his honour.
The prime minister, along with a high-level delegation, is on his maiden visit to Turkey, since he assumed office on April 11, this year.
A huge number of businessmen from Turkey Pakistan Business Forum, Turkish and Pakistani investors and officials from the Boards of Investment of Turkey and Pakistani attended the event. – NNI
