ISLAMABAD, June 10: Federal Minister and chairman Board of investment Chaudhary Salikhussain chaired a high level meeting with energy china international group. The minister was informed about energy china international group which has global presence and handling international businesses and are experts in renewable energy projects. The minister was informed that Energy china has delivered about 23 mega projects in the last three decades with value of more than 15 Billion dollars. The federal minister has said that clean and renewable energy is the way forward and is essential for the growing economy of Pakistan. The minister said clean and cheap solar energy would provide relief to general masses and asked for special tariff policy for solar powered mega projects. The minister has said that the Chinese investment in solar energy will generate employment opportunities in country and will help in growth of economy. The minister has said that Pakistan’s growing economy requires low cost electricity in the long run and renewable energy is the way forward. The minister proposed a solar powered water treatment plant for Karachi and urged Chinese investors to establish a solar panel manufacturing plant in Pakistan. The minister also said that government would ensure import of low cost solar panels for general masses. The minister has said that government is committed to provide ideal environment for Chinese investors in clean energy. The minister appreciated China Energy’s proposed projects of 1.5 Giga Watt of solar power projects worth 1.96 billion Dollars of investment. The minister has said that government is committed to provide ideal environment for Chinese investors in clean energy.
