The Center for Insights in Survey Research (CISR) of the International Republican Institute (IRI) in Kyrgyzstan conducted another survey among the population of the country.
According to the survey, the vast majority of Kyrgyzstanis show growing optimism about the direction of the country’s development, and are concerned about the decline of the economy and the growth of corruption in the country.
The survey noted that 34% of citizens of Kyrgyzstan trust current President Sadyr Zhaparov. Kamchybek Tashiev (Chairman of the State Committee for National Security), who is trusted by 18% of the population, is the second in the list. The top three most trusted politicians in Kyrgyzstan include Nurzhigit Kadyrbekov, the former culture minister and now is the leader of the Yyman Nuru parliamentary faction – 8%.
“When we asked pollsters if the country is headed in the right direction, 85% of respondents said it is. This shows an increase of 16 percentage points from the previous survey conducted in September 2021,” the IRI report said.
The poll also indicates that despite the positive sentiment among Kyrgyz citizens, many feel concern about the economy and corruption.
The survey involved 1,500 residents of Kyrgyzstan aged 18 and older. – Kabar
