SRINAGAR, March 29: In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has appealed to the world human rights organisations including the Amnesty International and International Committee of Red Cross to take cognizance of the miserable plight of the illegally detained Kashmiris.
The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar, Tuesday, said that dozens of Kashmiri political prisoners like Masarrat Aalam Butt, Amir Hamza, Mir Hafeezulla, Merajuddin Rabbani, Muhammad Amin Parrey, Showkat Ahmed Hakeem, Merajuddin Nanda and Assadullah Parrey had been kept behind the bars and were being subjected to the political vengeance. It condemned the continued incarceration of Hurriyet activist, Abdullah Nasir, a resident of Palhallan area of Baramulla, despite court orders for his release. The APHC demanded immediate release of all the Kashmiris languishing in different jails.
Meanwhile, Hurriyet leaders, Muhammad Azam Inqilabi and Bilal Ahmed Siddiqui, in their separate statements paid glowing tributes to prominent liberation leader, Ishfaq Majeed Wani, on the eve of his martyrdom anniversary. Ashfaq Majeed Wani was martyred by Indian troops in Hawal area of Srinagar on 30th March in 1990.-KMS
