BEIJING, July 20: Beijing Language and Culture University’s inaugural meeting of the World Council of Sinologists & Global Forum on World Civilizations and the Chinese Path was held in Beijing on Wednesday, more than 100 sinologists and dozens of well-known scholars from 61 countries including Pakistan and cultural regions on the Belt and Road, participated in the conference online and offline.
The meeting was chaired by Xu Baofeng, Convenor of the World Council of Sinologists and Dean of the Belt and Road Research Institute of Beijing Language and Culture University.
He said this forum will guide objective attitudes, rational explorations and empathic dialogue with the light of knowledge, and contribute to the promotion of positive exchanges between Chinese and foreign cultures.
Xu Baofeng further said that in the future, the Council of Sinologists will switch on the academic grid of Sinologists country by country, share academic achievements, tell the story of China, and set up friendly relationships with the world.
At the meeting, former Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, ambassador of many countries, member of the 12th National People’s Congress, chairman of the Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee, and former director of the State Press and Publication Administration Liu Binjie, Chairman of the World Council of Sinologists, and President of Beijing Language and Culture University Liu Li, Pakistani Sinologist Bushra Naz participated and expressed their best wishes and expectations for the establishment of the “World Council of Sinologists”.
Bushra Naz well-known scholar and Sinologist, said that Pakistan & China have the historical significance of friendship and “Sinology fever” in Pakistan, and the establishment of the “World Council of Sinologists” at Beijing Language and Culture University will undoubtedly pave a “cultural highway” for Chinese and world’s cultural researchers, particularly Pakistani scholars and provide lasting power and stability for academic cooperation between scholars from both countries.
