President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Soren Sattari, who is in our country on a working visit.
Issues of further expansion of the Uzbek-Iranian multifaceted relations were considered. Particular attention was paid to the promotion of joint programs and projects in the field of science, innovation and technology.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sorena Sattari conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi, to the head of our state.
The parties noted with satisfaction the intensification of bilateral contacts and mutual exchanges observed in recent years. Trade indicators and the number of cooperation projects are also growing. Last year, the trade turnover increased by 73 percent, and by another 22 percent since the beginning of this year.
The opportunities for expanding practical cooperation in the field of joint scientific and applied research, attracting the private sector to finance exploration and venture initiatives, supporting interuniversity programs, implementing joint projects in the field of bio- and nanotechnologies, the IT sector, pharmaceutical and other industries were emphasized. – Uz Daily
