ISLAMABAD, July 22: Finance Minister Miftah Ismail says the government will continue to provide loans under ‘Mera Pakistan Mera Ghar’ Housing scheme.
In a tweet on Friday, he said the housing loan scheme will continue for all those whose loan applications have been approved and they have paid advances (bayana). The Finance Minister said the government will also ask the banks to reduce the interest rate they have charged.
He said the government is still in the process of reshaping the scheme to make it cheaper and more widespread, and a revised scheme would be rolled out soon. The federal minister said that he had held a review meeting with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), adding that those whose applications had been approved would be given loans.
“We are still in the process of reshaping the scheme to make it cheaper and more widespread. This revised scheme will be rolled out soon,” he said. “Mera Ghar Mera Pakistan housing scheme is being reviewed, and it will be revived very soon,” he declared. -DNA
