adele-25BIRMINGHAM: Renowned British singer Adele paid tribute to the victims of the ghastly Lahore blast, which killed more than seventy people and injured over three hundred people. Adele is arguably one of the most successful and globally recognised musicians who is dominating the charts with her latest album 25. During a concert at Birmingham’s Genting Arena, Adele urged thousands of her fans to hold up torches in a show of support for the victims of a deadly bomb blast in Lahore, where more than seventy people, among them women and children.
The crowd responded enthusiastically to Adele’s request and joined in, waving thousands of torches that illuminated the dark arena.
Adele had earlier also paid tribute to the victims of the Brussels attacks in the same fashion. The singer has broken several records with her lastst album 25, which is powered by her immensely successful single Hello. The album sold a mammoth three million copies upon its release in the first week and till date has managed to sell a whopping fifteen million copies till date.
The tragic bomb blast shook Lahore and Pakistan on Sunday, March 27. Hundreds of people had gathered inside the park since it was a holiday and also Easter day. Scores of Pakistani Christians were also killed in the attack. The incident drew condemnations from Pakistan and around the world, as the nation mourned for the loss of life of innocent civilians. – MD
