ISLAMABAD, August 3: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz-led (PML-N) coalition government has decided to move Supreme Court for the disqualification of former prime minister Imran Khan and the ban on his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).
A meeting of the ruling alliance of 13 parties, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday in which Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar briefed the participants. PDM head Maulana Fazlur Rehman briefed the media about the decisions taken by the allied parties in the meeting. The sources said that the PDM meeting has decided that the Operation Clean-up is likely to start against central and provincial officials of the PTI in the next few days and various teams will take action simultaneously, through the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and other relevant agencies. The PDM decided that legal action will be taken against Imran Khan under the 12-point charge sheet of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). NNI
