ISLAMABAD, April 01: Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued detailed verdict of former president general (retd) Parvez Musharraf’s Exit Control List (ECL) omission case which states that Attorney General was asked repeatedly in the matter but no response was given.
The order states that former president Musharraf’s name was not omitted by the Supreme Court but the federal government. The 13-page order written by Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali states that Musharraf is facing different cases but neither the federal government nor any court took any action. The court ruled that the federal government failed to present arguments for putting the name of former president on ECL. The verdict states that Attorney General was asked repeatedly about the government’s stance on the issue, but he failed to give any response on behalf of the government. -Sabah
