Khattak directs for constitution of autonomous board to strengthen Pushto Academy

PESHAWAR, April 5: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed for constitution of an autonomous board for Pushto Academy besides devising an effective financial mechanism for the academy enabling it to play an efficient role in the promotion of Pushto literature.
This he said while talking to a delegation of the Pushto Academy led by Senior Provincial Minister Sikandar Hayat Sherpao at CM Secretariat Peshawar on Tuesday.
The delegates included Director Pushto Acadmey Dr. Nasarullah Jan Wazir, Dr. Farkhanda Liaqat and Dr. Noor Muhmmad Danish. The delegates apprised the Chief Minister of the problem of the Academy which were creating impediments in promotion of Pushto literature. The delegates demanded proper steps for solution for the problems of the academy on permanent basis. The Chief Minister while talking to the delegates assured them of taking all possible steps for strengthening and stability of the academy. The Chief Minister underlined the need of finding ways and means for strengthening of the academy as indispensible to serve the Pushto literature in efficient manner. He also directed for constitution of an autonomous board on the pattern of Gandhara board to make academy more efficient. Director Pushto Academy Dr. Nasarullah Jan was appointed as focal person for the purpose.
The delegation lauded steps taken by the provincial government for the promotion of culture and encouragement of artisans. They termed the steps of the government in this regard as positive contribution. On this occasion Director Pushto Aacademy presented collection of books published by the academy to the Chief Minister.-PR
