CMKPKPervezKhattak2PESHAWAR, April 12: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has underlined the need of efficient utilisation of available funds and effective monitoring to complete uplift projects within the stipulated time.
He issued these directives while getting briefing on the foreign funded projects at CM House Peshawar on Tuesday.
Sahibzada Saeed, Chairman strategic support unit while briefing the CM informed that 54 foreign assisted projects including 51 grant and 3 loan based projects in 14 different sectors were existed in the province with a total cost of Rs. 197.470 million.
The participants were informed that among the 54 projects 17 were multi sector, 6 health, 5 road infrastructure, 5 education, 2 local government, 8 peace and security, 2 agriculture, 3 industries while one each in energy, forestry, justice, sports and social welfare sectors projects. Similarly the CM was briefed that 25 of the foreign funded projects would be completed in current financial year, while 12 more would be completed in next fiscal year.
The CM while taking notice of the slow progress of various projects directed the implementers to adopt proper strategy to gear up work on these schemes. He also stressed the organizers of the projects to be well aware of the relevant rules and procedure to be able to execute and monitor the schemes in proper manner. Taking notice of the complaints about Municipal Service Development Project, the CM directed replacement of the Project Director of the project with a technical expert immediately.
Similarly, he also ordered for putting up a summary for acquisition of land for the Solid Waste Management Project. The CM directed for speeding up shifting of bus terminal out of the city and initiating designing work of a commercial center at the existing state of the bus terminal.-Online
