JAMMU/SRINAGAR, January 12: In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement (JKPM) has called upon India and Pakistan to ensure the involvement of the true representatives of the Kashmiris in the dialogue process.Hurriyet leader and JKPM Working Chairman Mir Shahid Saleem while addressing party workers in Jammu welcomed the resumption of dialogue process between Pakistan and India to resolve all outstanding issues between the two countries. However, he said that the restoration of normal relations between the two neighbouring countries was only possible after settlement of the Kashmir dispute.Meanwhile, thousands of people from different areas of Srinagar participated in funeral prayers of a youth, Sajjad Ahmad Butt, at Zewan in Srinagar, Tuesday. The youth was killed by Indian troops during a siege and search operation at Zakura on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday. Clashes broke out in Zewan area of Srinagar after people tried to march towards Srinagar-Jammu highway with the funeral of the youth. The personnel of Indian forces, who were deployed in strength in the area, denied the protesters to march towards highway. The troops fired tear-gas shells on the protesters, who in retaliation raised high-pitched anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.-KMS
