ISLAMABAD: January 12: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Minerals Development & Labour, Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is rich in minerals and other resources like marble and granite, and the provincial government is determined to exploit these minerals on modern technological lines. Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC) with significant technical expertise possesses modern machinery for the establishment and up-gradation of marble and granite quarries as per international standards. She expressed these views in her meeting with PASDEC officials at PASDEC Head Office.
Present at the occasion was Agha Shahid N Khan, Chairman Board of Directors, who also briefed the minister about the importance of joint efforts to transform the sector to mechanized methods of mining. At this point CEO PASDEC, Zahid Maqsood Sheikh gave a detailed presentation of the Company and highlighted the significant role and efforts of PASDEC in development of the Sector across the country. He informed the guests that PASDEC introduced the mechanized quarrying which maximizes production and reduces stone wastage.
Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli lauded the efforts of PASDEC for the development of this sector development. She said that her department would like to seek PASDEC support for marble and granite sector development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She said close collaboration of KP’s Mineral Development Department with PASDEC will be truly beneficial for the province.-PR
