SRINAGAR, April 24: In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference has said that a durable solution to the political uncertainty in Jammu and Kashmir lies in an end to forcible occupation of India over the territory.
The APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar, Sunday rejected former puppet Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah’s demand for autonomy. The APHC said that for the past seven decades the Kashmiris had been offering sacrifices for complete freedom from India, and not for internal autonomy.
The Hurriyet forum headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement in Srinagar said that Indian government was conspiring to convert the Muslim majority in Kashmir into a minority by planning residential schemes for non-locals. Hurriyet leader Zafar Akbar Butt while talking to people during his visit to Shopian and Pulwama urged India to refrain from settling non-locals in the territory.
Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi and Mehaz-e-Azadi in their separate statements issued in Srinagar stressed the need for a joint strategy to actively take forward the ongoing movement to its logical conclusion. The Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir in a statement in Srinagar said India is plundering natural resources of the territory as almost all major departments in Kashmir are controlled and manned by the Indian bureaucrats, who are hostile to local people.A delegation led by Hurriyet leader, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori during its visit to the residences of recently martyred youth in Handwara and Kupwara demanded probe into the killings by an international team.-KMS
