LZU-Chinese delegation visits PARC for collaboration in Agri-research and development programme

ISLAMABAD, April 26: A four members of Chinese delegation from Lanzhou University (LZU) China visited Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) for exchange of scientific knowledge and collaboration in agricultural research and development program.
The Chinese delegation consists of Professor Dr. Xiagnkai Li, School of Life Sciences LZU-China, Dr. Yong Chen, Dr. Hongmei Sheng and Dr. Hua Zhang. During the visit, the delegation discussed the collaboration between LZU and PARC in sharing expertise, scientific material and information, facilitate exchange of faculty, researchers and students, sponsoring of research training of scientists and students for Masters, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral fellowships and to organize international conferences and workshops.
The LZU delegation assured the provision of funds for the “Ecological Cycle Agriculture Research and Development Centre (ECARDC)” at National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) and collaborative research projects in agriculture, livestock, ecology, microbiology, environment, bio-energy and other mutually identified priority areas and will publish co-authored impact scientific papers. They also discussed the working towards establishment of science, technology and Industry Park at NARC by LZU, China.
Chairman PARC said that it was defining moment when LZU inked MoU with PARC for research and development by sharing the knowledge, expertise, scientific material and information. This collaboration will go a long way for the development of technologies in the field of agriculture, livestock, ecology, microbiology, environment, bio-energy and other priority areas. The establishment of ECARDC will provide opportunity for scientists of both countries to interact positively and contribute towards the development and advancement of scientific culture. Dr. Ehsan Akhtar, Dr. Arshad Ali, Director (LRRI), Dr. Muhammad Munir, Director (CCAEWRI) Dr. Sarfraz Ahmad, Project Director (RADP), Dr. Altaf Sher, DG (Coordination) and Sardar Ghulam Mustafa, DG (PR&P) PARC were also present in the meeting.-PR
