Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral M. Zakaullah addressing the Annual Safety review for the year 2015 of Pakistan Navy at Karachi, todayKARACHI, 26 April: Pakistan Navy’s Annual Safety Review for the year 2015 was held at Bahria Auditorium today. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Pakistan Navy safety review is an important forum where safety standards are discussed to mark importance of safety culture which in turn provides a road map to further enhance safe working environment in Pakistan Navy. Addressing the ceremony, Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, expressed his satisfaction over adherence to safety culture in Pakistan Navy. He said that safety has great affinity with Operational Readiness and Material Preparedness. Hence the success of Naval Operations are deeply enshrined in adherence to safety protocols. Operational readiness of Navy requires modern technology and well trained human resource which are acquired by spending a considerable chunk of National exchequer. Therefore, it is thus incumbent upon us to safeguard our assets with utmost care.
The Admiral said that we have to neutralize and overcome any untoward incident through our professional acumen, foresightedness and training in the ambit of available resources. I once again re-emphasize that resources will always be limited, we must make up for these limitations through better training and enhanced safety consciousness. It is equally important to understand that safety concerns should not make us timid. We should be bold, innovative, pragmatic and yet safe in conduct of Naval Operations. Our goal should be a safe and efficient Navy. Earlier, in his opening remarks, Commander Pakistan Fleet, Vice Admiral Syed Arifullah Hussaini said that 2015 was a year with a whole range of challenging operational, maintenance and admin activities. The important ones being Live Weapon Firing, Exercise Seaspark, Overseas deployments and Special Operations Exercises, which tested the men and material to the limits. In the end, the Chief Guest congratulated all the winners and gave away the safety trophies and awards.-PR
