Shabbir Shah returns to Srinagar after treatment from Delhi, put under house arrest

SRINAGAR, May 09: After returning in Srinagar from New Delhi Occupied Kashmir authorities again placed the Chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah under house arrest.
A party spokesperson in a statement issued to press on Monday severely criticised the state administration for placing Shabir Ahmad Shah under house arrest and said the so-called state government must not forget that people still remember the drama being staged before getting power in charity from New Delhi.
“People still remember how those singing the songs of democracy used to shed crocodile tears and condemn their predecessors for placing restrictions on resistance leadership, when they were in opposition,” he said.
The spokesperson said there is no difference between PDP and NC and that both Sheikh and Mufti families are installed by New Delhi to serve their interests in J&K.He said Shabir Ahmad Shah is continuously placed under house detention since last 31 months. “The police forces outside his residence were removed only for few days when Shah Sahib’s health condition deteriorated severely. The PDP-led government has turned the whole state info a virtual jail,” he said.-SABAH
