ISLAMABAD, May 9: Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan (JI) Senator Sirajul Haq announcing Karachi to Khyber train march by May 23, has said that corruption is biggest hurdle in progress of country and corruption free Pakistan campaign of JI is aimed at establishing Islamic welfare Pakistan.
Addressing a press conference Sirajul Haq said there is no chance of imposition of martial law in country and JI has decided to start train march from Karachi to Khyber as part of its corruption free Pakistan campaign in country from 23rd May. He announced that JI would hold gatherings in Bajur, Kohat and Chitral on May 14, 15 and 29 respectively. A bill would be presented in National Assembly for legislation against corruption, he added.
He said that 60 thousand people have been affected by the terrorism but 20 million people of country are being affected through economic terrorism. He said Quaid-e-Azam had not established Pakistan as liberal and secular country. He said corruption free Pakistan campaign of JI is aimed at establishing Islamic welfare state. He said that the JI will deposit looted money in national kitty after recovery from corrupt people.
JI has started “Corruption Free Pakistan” campaign before the arrival of Panama Leakes because there is massive corruption in all institutions of the country. Few families have looted the country like East India Company, he added.
Sirajul Haq demanded that across the board accountability of all people who have been named in Panama papers including the family of Prime Minister should be held. We want across the board accountability of Judges, Generals, Bureaucrats and politicians, he said.
These corrupt people have taken benefits from Martial Law as well as democratic governments, so masses should start struggle against this corrupt system, corrupt status quo and corrupt people of the country, he said adding that these are the people of same club who keep changing the parties and flags.
Siraj said corruption and Pakistan could not move forward together and there would be no candidate would be available if political parties start real accountability inside the parties. He said JI is a democratic and progressive party and JI will establish exemplary play ground at the level of union council so that every citizen could play game of his own choice.
Siraj said that JI also wants progress of women, adding that the according to Islam there should be arrangement of education, play and entertainment for women. Siraj said the purpose of JI movement is not end of politics and democracy from country. He said there is no chance of imposition of martial law in country.
He urged the Chairman NAB to apprehend corrupt people and should not release them through bargain.
Siraj said that the country is in the clutches of corrupt ruling elites and corruption pervades at all the institutions and departments of the country. The country’s destiny could be changed if the corruption money could be brought back to the country, he added.
There are two sets of laws in the country- one for the rich and another for the poor while clean drinking water is not available in 85 percent area of Karachi, Siraj said. He also informed that there will be public addresses at the railway stations of all the big and small railway stations during the Karachi-to-Khyber train march.
Earlier in a meeting held at the house of Mian Muhammad Aslam’s residence JI has decided to start train march from Karachi to Khyber as part of corruption free Pakistan campaign in country from 23rd May. Chief of the party Sirajul Haq will lead the march.
The meeting was attended by Secretary General JI Liaqat Baloch, Asadullah Bhutto, Farid Paracha, Mian Muhammad Aslam, Hafiz Salman Butt, Sahibzada Tariqullah, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Ameerul Azeem, Syed Waqas Anjum Jaffari, Zubair Farooq Khan and other central leaders of the Parti.-Sabah
