SirajulHaqISLAMABAD, June 15: Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has stressed that Pakistan and Afghanistan should settle their bilateral issues through dialogue and added that the common enemy was trying to benefit from the Pak- Afghan tension.
Talking to the media outside the Parliament House, he said that India had always tried to isolate Pakistan and to use the Afghan land against this country. He said that the leadership of the two countries should move prudently and foil the enemy conspiracies through mutual understanding.
Sirajul Haq said that Pakistan had stood by the Afghans in every crisis. After the Soviet invasion on Afghanistan, Pakistan had provided shelter to nearly four million Afghans, of which around 2.5 million Afghans were still camping in this country as refugees.
The JI chief said that instead of falling prey to the enemy designs, the two countries should move towards a better and prosperous future.
Sirajul Haq said that cunning enemy India was trying to pit two Muslim states against each other. In such a situation, the leadership of the two countries should demonstrate tolerance and farsightedness and recognize the common enemy.
He said there was Indian hand behind every terrorist activity inside Pakistan or from outside. He said that India wanted to use Afghanistan against this country but would fail in her designs and Afghanistan and Pakistan would move shoulder to shoulder with each other like brothers.
The JI chief said that Pakistan considered Afghanistan as an independent and sovereign state and did not like to interfere in the internal affairs of any country. “We want lasting peace in Afghanistan. All Afghan groups should settle their issues through talks so that the enemy conspiracies were foiled’, he added.
Sirajul Haq said the presence of foreign troops in Afghanistan was the basic reason of instability in the region. He said that foreign powers wanted to build India as regional policeman. However, he was hopeful that the brave Afghan nation would foil the enemy plan.
The JI chief paid rich tributes to Maj. Jawad Ali Changezi, who embraced martyrdom after being hit in firing by Afghan troops at Turkham. He said that the deceased had sacrificed his life for the country’s defense. He expressed condolences with the bereaved family.-Sabah
