MARDAN, June 16: A traffic warden sustained injuries as a bomb blew near former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Ameer Haider Khan Hoti’s residence in Mardan, reported on Thursday. According to details, some unknown miscreants planted bomb on railway track outside the minister’s house at Nowshera Road that exploded at 7:40 am. Reportedly, ex-CM Ameer Haider Khan
Hoti remained unhurt in the blast while an on-duty traffic police officer got severely wounded who was shifted to the Mardan Hospital for further medical assistance.
Following the incident, police personnel arrived at the scene where an exchange of firing between security men and suspects also broke out after the blast. It was a remote control blast however; the officers have besieged the entire area, said policemen.
According to the bomb disposal squad, half kilogram of explosives was used to carry out the attack whereas law enforcers have declared the region clear after completing search operation. Sources told that apparently the blast was taken place to spread terror among the locals. -DNA
